There are so many ways to get involved with the Minnesota River Arts Fair or another Savage Arts Council events this year that it makes it hard to decide which to do! As an organization SAC and its partner arts events focus our energies on programs, events and activities that support our areas local economies and artists. Yes, SAC is a Savage, Minnesota based organization but our reach is truly regional in that we help support events for Savage, Scott County and Minnesota artists and arts groups. So you don't have to live in Savage or even Scott County to join the fun. Just review all the activities below and then email about what you'd like to become involved in doing!
The Arts Council Board of Directors
Anyone who lives or works in Savage or Scott County may become involved in the Arts Council Board or an event committee. One third of the Board can be from outside of Savage! Board meetings are open to the public on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Savage City Hall or Savage Library.
Planning Committees
For each event we host or become involved in requires planning at some level whether it is small or large. Currently SAC has three very active planning committees that could use your support:
- The Juried Art Competition and Show
- The Minnesota River Arts Fair
- The Scott County Arts Carwl
Each has its own set of needs but one thing they all have in comon is they need community support from artists and non-artists alike to be successful.
Event or Activity Volunteers
OK, so you want to be involved but you don't want a be part of the planning group, you want to be on the frontlines during the action...GREAT! We need people during the events and activities to really make things happen. All the planning in the world is only affective if we can actually make it happen and that takes help from everyone:
