Know the Rules
The following is an easy outline of the rules for this fair. Artists will find that we use pretty standard guidelines so no surprises here.
- Artist must reside or work in Minnesota. Proof of residency or employment or studio location may be requested to verify eligibility to participate
- All work must be original, handcrafted work. Artist guarantees the accuracy of the description of the works presented and that work is a creation of their own hands.
- Work done by production studio is not acceptable. All work must be designed and executed by the exhibiting artist.
- Technique must be divulged in application in the “description of material and technique” section.
- It is the artists’ responsibility to choose the category which best describes your work. If you do not choose a category (media) your application will not be processed.
- All exhibiting artists agree to be present during all show hours both days. Representatives may not attend in place of the artist. Photo identification is required to ensure compliance.
- 33% of 2-dimensional work displayed must be original. Artist must define reproductions or limited edition through the Artist Statement and disclose this information on the individual piece. Postcards, note cards, posters, mouse pads, or other offset reproductions are not permitted .Unframed matted works must be shown in a portfolio for customer browsing
- Exhibiting artists are required to display an artist statement in a prominent place within their booths describing how the work is made and materials used.
- The work exhibited must be consistent with the images submitted and of comparable quality. Artists will be asked to remove or store work not adhering to this policy.
- Artists may only exhibit and sell work in the media category for which they are accepted.
- Artists are responsible for proper insurance and protection of work and setup. The Minnesota River Arts Fair is not responsible for loss or damage.
